MAS01 (a Software and Hardware system developed and "MADE IN SINGAPORE" by Edamas Medical Pte Ltd).

The first in our series of softwares. MAS01 (Memory & Attention Span 01) which was launched in 2009, was specially designed and developed by our Occupational Therapist who has much experience working with users that are cognitively impaired.

Short term memory simply refers to as working memory. It allows us to retain the information for further processing during a certain period of time. The duration of the period in short term memory is assumed to be in the order of seconds to minutes. However, working memory involves a more structureded process in storing and manipulating information. Memory can be seen to involve four sequential interrelated processes: paying attention, encoding, storage and retrieval of information.

Short term memory deficit will result in impairment in ADL, vocational and also social function. It is commonly found in those survivors of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Stroke, Dementia and even children with ADHD.

Much research has been done, to provide evidence that intensive mental exercises can improve an individual’s working or short term memory and attention performance. Training effect can be generalized to cognitive functioning in daily living.
